Biography
Patrick Mwiti Aranduh is a seasoned public sector leader with over three decades of progressive service in the Kenya Prisons Service, including more than 20 years in senior leadership and management roles. He currently serves as Commissioner General of Prisons and previously held the position of Director of Planning and Development at Prisons Headquarters, where he played a central role in institutional planning, policy coordination, and strategic development within the correctional system.
He has extensive experience in corrections management, institutional administration, logistics, and regional command, having served in multiple leadership positions across Kenya, including Regional Prisons Commander, Director of Logistics, and Officer in Charge of several major correctional facilities such as Nyeri Maximum Prison and Kisii Main Prison. His career reflects a strong record of operational leadership, organizational management, and public service delivery within complex security and correctional environments.
Patrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Security Management and Policing Studies and a Diploma in Crime Management and Prevention from Kenyatta University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Leadership and Governance. His professional development is further strengthened by advanced training in strategic leadership, policy analysis, public service integrity, budgeting, procurement, human rights leadership, and peace support operations.
