Mauro Bergozza, an entrepreneur from the Veneto region in the tanning sector, was born on 5 July 1962 in Arzignano (province of Vicenza, Veneto- Italy). The son of Cavaliere del Lavoro Giovanni Bergozza, founder of Bergi S.p.A., and Lucia Capitanio, he represents the second generation leading the family business together with his brothers Alberto and Federico. Founded in 1965, Bergi S.p.A. is a leading industrial company in the Veneto region, with production facilities in Arzignano and Gambellara, specializing in the design and manufacture of machinery for leather processing.

Currently, Mauro Bergozza serves as CEO of Bergi S.p.A., developing and directing the company’s strategic vision in the commercial and financial fields.
In the early years of his professional career, he gained solid experience in the tanning sector, deepening his knowledge of leather as a product and of its processing techniques. He later joined the family business, beginning a path of steady growth. He started from machine assembly, then moved to service and installation at clients’ sites, both in Italy and abroad, eventually reaching the company’s top management levels. At only 23 years old, he took charge of the internationalization process, expanding into strategic markets, with particular attention to Asia.

His passion for passing on business values and sector knowledge led to the involvement of his three children in Bergi S.p.A., ensuring the continuity of the family company across generations. This commitment guarantees the preservation of the skills acquired over time, passing on a heritage of knowledge and strengthening the link between entrepreneurial history and innovation.

He served as President of the Cimaco Association, leading its merger into Assomac with the aim of creating a single representative body for the mechanical sector of the leather supply chain.

Since 1996, Mauro Bergozza has been a member of Assomac Association, where he has held the roles of Board Member, Member of the Presidential Council and, since 2020, Vice President. In 2024, he assumed the role of President for the following four years, leading the Association, which is part of Confindustria and represents companies producing technologies and machinery for the tanning, footwear and leather goods sectors.
