Swaminathan Nagarajan

Biography

Mr. Nagarajan is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited, where he leads the organization with a strategic vision grounded in operational excellence, people-centric leadership, and a deep commitment to sustainable growth.

Mr. Nagarajan began his professional journey in 1991 with the prestigious Tata Administrative Service, the leadership cadre of the Tata Group. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and is a Gold Medalist from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, where he earned his Post Graduate Diploma in Management. His educational background laid the foundation for what has become an impactful and influential career spanning multiple sectors and leadership roles.

Over the years, he has served on the boards of several industry associations and contributed his expertise to multiple national and international committees, shaping policies and guiding industry best practices. His leadership is recognized not just within the Tata Group but across the broader industrial landscape.

Mr. Nagarajan also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Kenya Chamber of Mines, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing the mining sector’s contribution to Kenya’s economic development, promoting innovation, responsible practices, and collaborative growth within the industry.
