Dr Jon Leary

Biography

Dr. Jon Leary is a Senior Researcher on the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme responsible for coordinating the programme’s Kenya portfolio. He holds a PhD in Energy Futures, is a Director at Gamos East Africa, a Visiting Research Fellow at Loughborough University and a board member at the Clean Cooking Association of Kenya. He brings broad international experience from across Latin America, South/Southeast Asia and Africa and has spent the last 10 years supporting Kenya’s modern energy cooking transition. This has involved mobilising diverse stakeholders through evidence-based advocacy and strategic collaboration, including enabling government policy formulation, catalysing private sector innovation and creating targeted learning communitie
