Brian Portelli

Biography

Brian Portelli is Chief Technical Advisor within the Sustainable Investments and Responsible Business Unit in the Directorate of SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) based in Vienna, Austria. He currently leads the UNIDO technical implementation and coordination of the intra-African, Caribbean and Pacific, EU- funded programme ‘Support to business friendly and inclusive national and regional policies, strengthening productive capabilities and value chains’.

Since 2010, Portelli has been engaged in the formulation and implementation of UNIDO’s technical cooperation programmes focusing on investment promotion and FDI facilitation, notably in Sub-Saharan Africa, where he has been involved in the preparation and delivery of technical and advisory support to investment promotion agencies, special economic zones authorities and economic development agencies within the framework of UNIDO’s sustainable investments services.
