Heba Salama

Biography

Heba Salama is an expert in business and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), as well as international cooperation, with a specialization in African affairs and Regional Economic Communities (RECs). With over 20 years of experience advocating for African development, she currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the COMESA Regional Investment Agency (RIA). Since establishing the Agency, she has been instrumental in promoting the COMESA region as a unified market and an attractive investment destination.

Heba Salama manages strategic country and regional-level programs and initiatives aimed at improving the business and investment climates of COMESA Member States, through collaboration with local, regional, and international development partners. Her extensive experience in developing global partnerships has enabled her to build a vast network of professional relationships across the COMESA region and Africa at large.

Having spent a significant part of her life in Zambia, Ms. Salama brings valuable insights from her entrepreneurial background, where she set up, managed, and owned various businesses. Her diverse experiences and deep commitment to African development continue to drive her impactful work in the region.
