Joseph Kitilit

Biography

Eng. Joseph Kitilit is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Mining Corporation (NAMICO), the Government of Kenya’s investment arm in the mining sector mandated to promote responsible mineral development, strategic investments, and value addition within the country’s mineral value chain.

He is a seasoned engineer and mining sector leader with extensive experience in mineral resource development, project management, and public sector leadership. Eng. Kitilit plays a central role in advancing Kenya’s mining sector through strategic partnerships, investment promotion, and implementation of policies that support sustainable and responsible mining practices.

Under his leadership, NAMICO continues to strengthen Kenya’s mineral development agenda by facilitating joint ventures, promoting mineral beneficiation, supporting investor engagement, and ensuring that mineral resources contribute meaningfully to national economic growth and community development.

At the Kenya International Investment Conference (KICCO) 2026, Eng. Kitilit will contribute to discussions on “Responsible Mining and Value Addition for Kenya’s Growth,” highlighting opportunities for investors, the importance of sustainable mineral development, and the role of partnerships in unlocking Kenya’s vast mineral potential.
