Biography
Mohamed Abou Basha serves as Chairman of the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB), where he plays a leading role in driving economic reform and strengthening Egypt’s business environment. Under his leadership, EJB has experienced significant growth, expanding its membership and producing policy papers addressing key sectors including industry, investment, agriculture, and tourism, contributing to Egypt’s regional and global competitiveness.
In addition, Abou Basha is Vice Chairman of MABA, a leading agricultural company founded in 1983 and recognized as a pioneer in Egypt’s agricultural sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Acadia University in Canada and gained early industry experience in Italy’s stone fruit and potato sectors, followed by specialized training and certificates in agricultural business in the Netherlands.
At MABA, he has led the company’s transformation into one of Egypt’s largest and most diversified farms, focusing on date palm cultivation, and specialty crops. He has expanded the company’s export markets to regions such as Southeast Asia and Russia, while advancing agricultural innovation through nurseries producing protected sweet potato slips ornamentals and tropical fruits.
Through both his business and institutional roles, Abou Basha continues to promote sustainable agriculture, innovation, and economic development in Egypt.
